Advantage recently provided a TR-300 Negative Pressure unit http://www.advantageengineering.com/pdf/literature/advantageNegativePress.pdf to an injection molder whose mold had developed a leak from the cooling water line into one molding cavity in a four cavity mold.  The part being molded was a critical part with production goals already running behind schedule leaving no time to remove the mold and have it repaired.  The user contacted an Advantage application specialist who recommended the TR-300 unit (14 gpm), an order was placed and in less than 5 days the unit was on the users dock.  The mold had eight 3/8″ water lines in & out. The TR-300 was connected to one 3/8″ line that was leaking, the unit vacuum was adjusted to eliminate the leak and the fourth cavity was back in production.  The 25% increase in production that was acheived provided a quick payback for purchasing the unit which cost about $4,700.  The user intends to have the mold repaired soon and keep the TR-300 unit for future emergencies.
